I thought it might be fun to talk about this cool little Hys book that I was happy to have stumbled upon while looking for something else on mercari. The book itself is from 1990 (!!) & still in excellent condition; it goes over the history of the brand from Fall / Winter 1984 to Spring / Summer 1990 and covers things like their various mascots, prints, collaborations, and themes. It also features their "current" Fall / Winter 1990 collection.

Please let me know if you'd like me to do more types of reviews/posts like these, and let me know what your favorites are! I also included a small selection of my own pieces at the end :)

( Fall / Winter 1990 )

everyone needs a pair of FUCK OFF! pajamas honestly ( Fall / Winter 1990 )

This little spread is one of my favorites in the whole book and is a huge inspo to me. There's just something so cool about it and it really gives off a Clueless vibe too, I think. On the following pages are some cute dresses with British flag motifs and mod themes.

Page covering all of their wild ass mascots, including a better look at the FUCK OFF bear from the pajama set.

Another one of my favorites from the book, a photo from a private collection featuring two Yakuza men in Hysteric Glamour.

Who IS Steven, anyway? Definitely one of the more strange illustrations in the book.

Now I'm gonna go ahead & share with you guys some of my own old Hys collection, though they are from a few years after this book was released it isn't by much.

Tomato bird camisole and what I can only describe as USA as Fuck camisole. Tomato bird is my favorite and was recently featured in a Hysteric Glamour nostalgia collection.

Knit bag and graffiti bucket hat!

old ass sticker!!

I really love that you included pieces from your collection at the end! I think my favourite pages out of the ones you showed are the lolita bond girl pages and the fall/winter fashion shots. Monochrome looks are so good. Would absolutely love to see more of these types of posts because it's really fun to read along with your thoughts!
